About Our New Website
"Under construction - This article will updated soon"
This website has been optimised for viewing on a widescreen monitor.
With widescreen monitors becoming the norm we felt designing 2 another site for viewing on older monitors wasn't warranted.
Our new website also uses many new web technologies that will view differently in various browsers
Q: What's a browser?
A: A Browser is the program you use to access the internet from your computer
Below is a run down on the most popular browsers in use, we hope you find it useful.
For Security, speed, features and the fact that it will display all web pages properly we recommend Firefox
As a computer technician I repair many computers a week and without doubt one of the major problems is Virus and Spyware infections.
The most common way for a virus or spyware to get installed on your computer is through your browser allowing it to install in the background without you noticing.
Firefox is the securest browser and although not immune, does a far better job than Internet Explorer of keeping you safe on the internet.
In very simple terms, all webpages are built using hidden styling sheets call "cascading style sheets"
These style sheets are used to add style to fonts, colours, spacing etc to web pages
These style sheets are continuously being updated with new features, unfortunately the only browsers that seems to keep up with the new trends are Firefox, Safari and Chrome
The most common browsers in use are:
Internet Explorer (comes pre-installed on all Windows based computers)
Win XP should have the latest version 8 installed and Vista and Win7 should have version 9
If you really want to carry on using Internet Explorer we suggest increasing the screen size to 125%
This feature can be found at the bottom right hand side of the browser
Safari (comes pre-installed on all Apple Mac computers
Firefox (a free browser released by the open source community)
Should have Version 5 same version for XP, Vista and Win7
Opera ( a free browser released by Opera Software
Chrome (a free browser released by Google)
